Justice for J6: Of, By, and For the Media
At what point, when wagging the dog, does the dog just die?
It is September 18th, 11:15 AM. The Riot Industrial Complex circles like vultures, searching desperately for a single person to interview. The few confused boomers who bothered to show up for the Justice for J6 rally find themselves surrounded by multiple film crews at once. No one seems angry at other crews muscling in on their interviews. Honor among carrion eaters. There isn’t enough story to go around: we’ll all have to share. We’ll just avoid getting each other’s crew in the shot, OK?
All of us paid money to be here, probably a month ago, after Look Ahead America announced the event and before every sign indicated it would be an enormous flop. The Proud Boys denounced it. The Oathkeepers denounced it. Madison Cawthorn and Marjorie Taylor Greene said no. Even Trump dragged it a couple days ago. “If people don’t show up they’ll say, ‘Oh, it’s a lack of spirit.’ And if people do show up they’ll be harassed.”
When Trump’s right, he’s right.
